The Hartz Mountains at the southern end of the Huon Valley are part of the Tasmanian World Heritage Wilderness Area.
A range of walking tracks lead through subalpine woodlands to ice-carved crags, lakes and alpine moorlands.
On clear days there are superb views east to the sea and west into the Tasmanian Wilderness World Heritage Area.
The Waratah Walk takes just a few minutes to reach a lookout with sweeping forest views.

There are no camping facilities at the park but camping is allowed 500 metres from any road.
