Itinerary
This is a typical itinerary for this product

Stop At: Adelaide Oval, War Memorial Drive, Adelaide, South Australia 5006 Australia

The redeveloped Adelaide Oval offers a unique blend of new and old, carefully integrating the latest in stadium design with famous features such as the heritage scoreboard, century-old Moreton Bay Fig trees, the grassed northern mound and more. These elements form an embedded museum, with integrated points of interest and historical features bringing the whole stadium to life.

Access restricted areas and experience the thunderous roar of the crowd as you take to the ground through the interactive player’s race. See where some of the world’s greatest bands have entertained sold-out crowds and step inside living history as you explore inside the iconic scoreboard.

Adelaide Oval Tours are led by expert volunteer guides who will share captivating tales of new and old Adelaide Oval. Each guide has their own unique stories and tour paths change seasonally - there’s always a new experience waiting to be had!

The tours last approximately 90 minutes at a steady walking pace and may include the use of steps, stairs, ramps, escalators and lifts. Comfortable walking shoes and weather appropriate clothes are strongly recommended as the path includes external areas.

While at the Oval, take time to wander through the famed Bradman Collection, on loan from the State Library of South Australia. The Collection follows Sir Donald Bradman’s progress from club cricketer to the international stage. It explores his major role in cricket administration and provides glimpses of the family man and all-round sportsman.

The Bradman Collection is open Monday to Friday 10am to 4pm and is free for the public to view.

Duration: 1 hour 30 minutes

Adelaide Oval has the reputation for being Australia's most most beautiful stadium. Rather than being a coloseum like the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG), it resembles an English county cricket ground. Its main functions are to host Test cricket and Australian Football League (AFL) matches. Following the recent upgrade, it is certainly more attractive for spectators. This year, the Oval will host an Ashes Test with England, amongst other games. By the way, the scoreboard is a well-known feature of the Oval. Entering the ground may take longer than previously due to Covid precautions.

I have been playing or watching cricket for around 60 year and I have lived in Victoria, NSW & Queensland so the G, the SCG and the Gabba have been my local grounds. I have been to the cricket at Adelaide a couple of times and with the opportunity to do a tour of the stadium, ground etc as part of the Indian Pacific train crossing I took the tour. First stop on the tour right inside the entrance was the - Bradman Collection. Most all people from the worlds cricket playing countries will know who The Don is - my dear wife included. There are lots of his personal collectables, all his records but also many videos, interviews and other memorabilia. On we go through the Score Board. For those of us who are from an era 'pre- electronics' and like the 'relic' cricket scoreboards a tour through here to see how they operate all the numbers and lights is absolutely fascinating. The SCG and the Adelaide Oval scoreboards are constructed and operate pretty much the same. They were built using 'stuff' that was available at the time, e.g bike chains, sprockets, gears etc to change rotate the score and ordinary light globes to indicate the batsman on strike, bowler, fielder etc. At Adelaide 8 scoreboard operators spent all day (in the summer heat) in the confines of the scoreboard keeping thousands of cricket patrons informed as to everything that was going on out on the ground. Even the commentators relied on the scoreboard to know who had fielded the ball etc. As we toured the stands we learned about the now household names who have played cricket, football here over the past 120 years. Then for breakfast in the chairman's lounge - great way to end the tour before we were bussed back to the Indian Pacific. Great Tour - well worth the visit - and many were NOT cricket fans.

A very interesting & informative tour well worth the small cost of $25. High light was the old iconic score board it is amazing to see it is fully functional. Our guide knew his facts & made the journey more relevant with his knowledge of the history of the oval

Great Looking around the change rooms, getting a birds eye view from ground level, walking into the old original score board with fantastic & friendly tour guides.

All other stadiums I have toured in Australia wevisited the change rooms of both football teams znd the cricket team change room if applicable. On tbjs tour we just looked through the glass windows and only visited the "away" team rooms. We did not see the coaches box and only saw the newspaper media room which was disappointing. I do not recall seeing the Bradman collection. Very disappointing tour. If we were restricted because of covid 19 then we should have been advised of this prior to booking.

Really enjoyed tour. Had a very good tour guide who was very informative. Loved the old score board and how it works. It was very interesting to see the change rooms and behind scene areas. Also the hallways with their honour boards and photos etc. Donald Bradman museum was also worth seeing. Would highly recommend tour

Very interesting tour particularly if you are into cricket or afl. The tour guide was very knowledgeable and a trip up into the old scoreboard was worth the whole visit. Well priced as well.

Lovely guide who shared his love and knowledge of cricket. Our group was lucky while entering the historic scoreboard to be shown it's workings by an actual user
