Jellurgal Dreaming includes an informative overview in the "Dreaming Amphitheatre". Depart the centre for a brief bus trip to David Fleays Wildlife Park, where you can see Australian native wildlife such as kangaroos, koalas, crocodiles and brolgas in their native habitat. Wander along the pristine mangrove boardwalk and learn about the importance of these coastal tracts to the Aboriginal people. Return To Jellurgal for a mesmerising, authentic Aboriginal corroboree and traditional fire starting demonstration.
You begin your Jellurgal trek with an ancient smoking ceremony and ochre anointment on the beach at Burleigh Cove, performed by members of the local Yugambeh tribe. Visit the midden and other significant Aboriginal sites along the way. The Jellurgal trek takes 45 minutes but there is an option to return to the Centre at the Midden, 15 minutes into the Tour.
